TICK RADAR

Did you know ticks detect their hosts by CO2 emissions, ammonia, body heat, lactic acid and vibrations in the ground?

Are ticks insects?
Find out the answer to these and other questions about ticks at our tick talk.

The Mattapoisett Land Trust and the Mattapoisett Woman’s Club are co-sponsoring a talk about ticks in the South Coast on Saturday, November 4th at 10:30 a.m. in the Mattapoisett Free Public Library, 7 Barstow Street, in the lower level meeting room.  Entomologist Blake Dinius, who was recently hired by Plymouth County, will discuss the facts on ticks, the diseases they carry and proven methods of protection.
